Making Cookies!

Every year around Christmas time in my family we make Christmas cookies to give out as gifts. Its such a fun tradition. It takes about 2 days to make everything that we want to make . So this year was extra special since Rilynn got to kind of participate. She laughed played and cried in his exersaucers my mom has :) haha

The signature cookie that we have been making since I can remember are the sprits cookies.

They are super simple just
2 cups all-purpose flour or cake flour
1/2 cup sugar a pinch of salt
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 pound unsalted butter (room temp.)
Then all you need is a cookie press with your favorite shapes and food color and bake away my friends and decorate!! One year when my brother and I we younger around 12-14 we made mud color spritz cookies because they let us do our own colors for the first time. So they weren't so great as gifts but they were still good! Its really so easy and fun! gotta try it if you haven't.

You guys have to and I mean HAVE TO make these red velvet cake cookies they are de-lish-us!! and so so easy yum! My finished product doesn't look as good as pinterest but they sure do taste amazing!
1 box red velvet cake mix
1 egg
1 package of cream cheese
1 stick of butter
tsp of vanilla
mix the cream cheese and butter first then add the egg and vanilla then the cake mix and viola red velvet cake cookie mix bake and sprinkle with powdered sugar yumm!

These were super easy just square pretzels then Hersey's hugs and peppermint kisses then any kind of red and green m$m's
d

Fruit cake bars - now these I don't like but everybody that tries one says they are great! Its got a grahm cracker crust with sweetened condensed milk poured over then your traditional fruit cake candied cherries and pineapples with some raisins and pecans and almonds. I'm sure you could google a recipe if your interested.

We made tons of other cookies that got eaten so I don't have pictures to share. But I love this time of year and I love the tradition of making cookies with my grandmother, mom and sister and now Ri gets to join. Its so special.

We have a jam packed weekend full of Christmas shopping since I have procrastinated and haven't done any yet! 7 days till Christmas I cant believe it

Welp happy Saturday!
